IET YP UoM Recruitment 2018
ET Young Professionals Chapter of University
of Moratuwa (UoM) which has maintained a good membership base throughout the
past years organizes a recruitment program every year to enhance the membership
base of the chapter. This is organized in aim of informing the importance of
joining with IET and to make aware the upcoming events of UoM Chapter of IET
Young Professionals for the prospective undergraduates of University of
Moratuwa.
Recruitment program for the year 2018 of IET
Young Professionals of UoM Chapter was held on Thursday the 11th of January
from 11.15 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. at hall ENTC 1. The event was a great success
where there were more than 110 undergraduates from 2016th batch of
University of Moratuwa.

These inspired members
were informed about the need of joining with the IET and opportunities which
they can get through IET to gather experiences to build the foundation for
their professional career. They were informed about paid membership of IET as
well as other opportunities such as ability to participate in industrial visits
and guest lectures, ability to network with professionals, assistance in
projects, access to unrivalled knowledge resources, access to engineering and
technology related jobs, awards and scholarships etc.
Introduction to IET was delivered by former
IET YP chairman, Eng. Saliya Sajith Samarawickrama followed by the speech from
the guest speaker of the event, Eng. Sanath Panawennage, the director of Arthur
C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies. Prof. Rohan Lucus, a fellow of IET
Sri Lanka Network and Dr. Ranga Rodrigo senior treasurer of IET YP UoM also
graced the event along with the Recruitment Officer of IET YP Sri Lanka Network,
Eng. Dasitha Liyanage.
To initiate the recruitment programme for the
year 2018, awareness sessions were held for each department of Faculty of
Engineering separately. Further, awareness campaigns on Recruitment 2018 of IET
YP UoM were conducted successfully through social media.
